Mitchell is a public law partner at Aldermane who specialises in major ICT projects and procurements for government clients. He has worked with and for government for over a decade in a variety of commercial and legal roles.

Mitchell’s core expertise is in government procurement, intellectual property, ICT, data and cyber (including privacy impact assessments and the use and disclosure of personal information), complex acquisition and sustainment projects, as well as technology projects.

Mitchell has extensive experience advising Commonwealth agencies on compliance with procurement policies, the negotiation of key risk areas under the ASDEFCON suite of contracts, and a variety of other commercial issues, such as liability, indemnity, intellectual property, privacy, public law, and security. He also assists with the development of procurement strategies, the evaluation of tenders and tender compliance, and advises on pragmatic ways to achieve the Commonwealth’s strategic objectives.

Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce (International Business) from the University of Canberra. He is admitted to the roll of solicitors in the ACT and to the High Court of Australia, and is a practising solicitor in the ACT.

Prior to joining Aldermane, Mitchell held a senior role in Australia’s largest consulting firm, and before that, was a senior associate at the international law firm, Ashurst.
